Academic Achievements: Over a hundred published scientific papers. Authored and edited several monographs, most recently – as a lead Editor of a widely acknowledged AGU Monograph “The oceans and rapid climate change: Past, present, and future” Served on dozens academic committees, currently on the EMS Fixed-term Faculty Promotion Committee. Served as a Principal Investigator or co-Investigator in several externally funded projects totaling millions of dollars. Taught a number of graduate classes, most recently Meteo 597 at Penn State University.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills. Hundreds of presentations at different national and international scientific forums. Experienced in public speaking. Outstanding skills in writing of all kind of scientific materials: research manuscripts, reviews, books, book chapters, manuals, proposals, etc.

Organizational Skills: Served as a Project Leader in many scientific projects, including publishing monographs (see above). In 1998-2005 organized and convened five AGU session (including the most prestigious Union Session) and two Ocean Science meetings. Served as a Chief Scientist and a Deputy Chief Scientist in two large-scale oceanographic expeditions. Advised over a dozen of Master and PhD students.

Peer Reviewing Services: Reviewed a great number of manuscripts submitted to leading US and international journals, including high-impact Science, Nature, Geophysical Research Letters, Global and Planetary Change, Paleoceanography, and numerous others. Reviewed proposals submitted to NSF, NASA, NERC , and other US and International agencies.

Programming and Office Skills: Over 15 years of experience in computing. Proficient in many programming languages and in using all major document creating and processing software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), major graphic and publishing software (Adobe and Corel: Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Corel Draw), and web publishing tools (Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks). Knowledgeable in HTML, CSS, PHP, and other Internet technologies.

Education:   Ph. D. in Physics and Mathematics in Oceanography (Institute of Oceanology, Moscow, Russia); M.S. in Physics (Moscow State University).
